All in one

Last Friday was my last day in school. I am currently sitting on my sofa thinking what to have for breakfast. It's 10:30 at the moment.

Reading a case happened in one of the private hospitals here in HK, the Baptist Hospital, about a pregnant woman from the mainland died of a complication during labor called amniotic fluid embolism. This complication will cause the placenta to break down, allowing the amniotic fluid, fetal cell and hair and other debris to enter the mother's blood stream causing serious allergic reaction. She was given drips of oxytocin to hasten the labor since she wasn't dilated. After a couple of hours, she was complaining about the pain and was then not responsive and needed to be resuscitated. Shortly after she died....

I know I shouldn't be reading news like this to stir my emotions. News said it is a rare pregnancy complication and no one could have prevented it. The death rate is 60% if it happens... What bothers me the most is that it said 'private hospitals have found more and more of these death cases and that the level of management and services have to improve'. The fact that I am going to have Xiaobao in a private hospital is now slightly bothering me...

This doesn't help with my already anxious feeling about giving birth. Everyday I wake up, thinking 'is today the big day?' since Xiaobao technically is full term size wise. God bless that everything's gonna be alright...

Today we are planning to go to the British consulate and immigration department to pick up forms about applying passport and return home permit. We've read up information online about the procedures and thought we could do with going there and ask any final doubts that we have about how all these will go... reading it online and actually having it done is always different. After that we might travel to North Point and take the ferry across to Nick's and hand in the form about the resident octopus card registration, so that we can get in and out of the flat without hassle.

I am chubby!

Time flies, it's getting closer and closer for Xiaobao to arrive! Today at St. Paul we saw Xiaobao's chubby face. Well at first I couldn't see it. Wherever Dr. Fong was pointing I thought it was his fingers, but turned out it's his face! Today Xiaobao's face is facing side-way. Though his head is engaging which is good. I asked if the ultrasound can tell whether or not my birth canal will be big enough for his head to pass through. Apparently his head is already 39 weeks when I am just 35 weeks as of today! :/ Xiaobao weighs approximately about 3 kg. He's indeed getting heavy, this afternoon I walked around without the girdle on, my thighs felt so tired after 2 or 3 steps! It makes a big difference when the supportive girdle is on!

He's gonna be a big baby, there's no doubt about it! Doctor told me to walk more, being a teacher that shouldn't be a problem. Though this is my last week in school so I'll have to make sure I walk more at home! Should start walking up and down stairs as daily exercise. Our flat is so small that I can't really walk around much. Always stuck on the sofa which isn't really ideal for me and Xiaobao. The more exercise I do, the easier the delivery will be, everybody's telling me that...and my tight fingers are all normal according to Dr. Fong. They are called 'trigger fingers'. Though when I asked will I get 'trigger toes' Dr. Fong seems to appreciate my joke lol.

After Xiaobao's birth, in 6-8 weeks time, we have to go back for post-natal checkups to make sure everything's fine for both of us. Time is pretty tight for our Christmas schedule, so we'll have to do our best. There are lots of uncertainties. Getting Xiaobao's birth certificate, passport (these two are most important and yet we won't know how long it'll take to process - hope for the best), arranging for checkups, etc. Booking the tickets will be a pain in the backside in our case, which also means it's gonna be expensive :/ *sigh*

Asked about the delivery package offered in St. Paul, if there is any emergency change of delivery plan, extra cost will be added on. If it's during normal office hour, it'll be extra few thousands, however if it's late at night or early in the morning, it'll be more expensive, close to nearly another 10k :-/ *joy oh joy*

We've just made Xiaobao's bed. It's looks comfortable and cute. It'll be here awaiting for Xiaobao's return :D

Imagination runs wild?

Lately I had a lot of dreams, most of them can be classified as 'nightmares' :/ they all surrounding a same theme that is 'how I will fall'! This morning alarm went off first time, so I put babyplus on. Another hour of sleep before I have to actually get up for work. In that last hour, I had my 'nightmare'.

It was in a morning. I was on my way to the MTR as usual. Hubby seems to be walking with me to the MTR. We departed when we got to the stairs. After a few steps down, I fell :/ - it was painful and I was worried. People around me started coming round to help me. I grabbed a person next to me and said 'can you go out there and find this westerner, he won't be far, we just said goodbye'. How strange I recall every word I said in this dream, usually I can't remember exactly what happened in my dreams.

So I said to that person thinking there won't be a lot of 'westerners' this time of hour on the street, plus it wasn't long since we departed. However we couldn't find hubby on the street :( - so I tried calling. No answer (his phone must be in the toilet sitting on his books), I was worried and annoyed, yes my water broke...so I had to be sent to the hospital...Then what next...alarm went off at 5:45...

Isn't it great? I spent my last hour of sleep in this nightmare *sigh*. This is not the first one. I have many other dreams which I couldn't recall exactly but all around the same topic... is it my body giving me signs or that I am thinking too much? Sometimes, especially if it rains, I'll think about every step I took, I might somehow tripped myself. Like my left foot tripped my right foot as I walk...but not that I am 'obsessed' thinking about those...people said one'll only dream about things they think a lot. I don't think falling is something I think a lot during the day....:/ :/ :/

Last night I woke every 3 hours. Couldn't sleep on my back since Xiaobao weighs too much for me to breathe... I lie on my side and every time I woke up, half of my body will be numb, so as my fingers which isn't unusual now....But the difficult thing was whichever side I tried to lean on, Xiaobao went that direction! Wasn't he making it difficult for himself! Of course then he's moving around and wiggling. Well of course!! What do you expect? You shouldn't have gone that way, should you? *sigh*

Yes I could have turned the other way, but then he'll catch up before I finished my turning. It's like he knows what I am gonna do next! Just like him and the camera, sheesh, you can't be that accurate every time, but he seems to manage lol.

Every time I woke up last night, my tummy was stone hard, Xiaobao sticking out at weird angle making me difficult to pull myself up, even sitting down makes me wanna saw my legs off to give more room to my tummy :-O

Tonight we'll be going to Nick's - hopefully there won't be hassle about us going in. I foresee we'll be taking some bags with us, not to mention our laptops if we were to stay overnight. The idea is that all the baby shoppings will be delivered to the flat tomorrow (since we have the cot, so we thought we best leave it - and put it up - at Nick's) and tomorrow is also my checkup day to St. Paul, so we can also time how long it'll take on taxi from Nick's to the hospital. From CSW to St. Paul takes about 40-45 minutes...

Every Little Helps

Right now Xiaobao is listening to his favourite YBCR CD, it's been awhile since he last listened. Let's see if he'll move more for his kungfu video sequel;)

Daddy has put up a donation page on our blog, things are getting expensive now isn't it? We'll send the link to family and friends. Hopefully we'll get some donations for Xiaobao, as Tesco says 'Every little helps'! Anything you guys contribute will be greatly appreciated!

Let's see what we're gonna have for dinner tonight. As of now, we aren't really hungry as such. But I thought of making eggplant with spam, winter melon and seaweed soup, I might actually put the rice noodle in the soup. Depends on what Hon fancies for dinner, rice or noodles... We are running out of instant noodles...

We haven't started moving stuff around in the flat. Need to clear out a space to put Xiaobao's cot. I have a lot of books, looks like I have to throw them all away :( I don't want to 'cause they are all my literature novels and books I collected all these years, but doesn't look like I have many choice in this small flat...Xiaobao's stuff will get more and more, no time to do it then when he arrives. The earliest we clear out the space, the better...But of course I can't do it myself, too much lifting and moving heavy stuff around from the ceiling. Yes we've kinda stack stuff upwards these years...the only way to store in a small flat eh...so for that, I can direct and Hon will have to move the stuff, though we have to wait for whenever he can...

I was planning to let this elder woman to take my books and papers away, since she can sell it to others and get some money for herself. I thought since we are throwing it away anyway, might as well be of some use to her. It's not worth the hassle for us though, we are talking about several kg of paper and get a few dollars. But that's how some of the old people earn their living here. When mom's here, she used to keep cardboard box paper for this old lady and mom will call her from time to time to come and collect.

However I haven't seen this old lady for awhile now. She used to come and visit me, see how I am doing after mom's back to China...not sure where she lives. I only know she's on the same floor as us but no chance can we guess which room she's in...There are many here....:/ unluckily I couldn't find her home no. either :(

Apart from moving stuff around the flat trying to squeeze out as much space as possible. On the other hand, we are reading up procedures about legal matters, how to apply documents for when he arrives. We need to get his birth certificate, British passport, Return-Home Permit, etc. Looks like all these require different process and we don't know how long each one will take... the more we know, the better we can prepare. Anyway a lot will be going on this November, that's for sure! Thank god mom will be here to help me, or else I don't know how we'll be able to do all that by ourselves!

Half six already! I might go and prepare dinner soon actually...

Xiaobao shopping

Needless to say it's been another week since I last updated. One more change on me apart from Xiaobao moving and the back pain and general discomfort is my joints! :/ especially the joints on my hands!! Whenever I lie down and sleep, I'll wake up half of my body numb ('cause I sleep on my side most of the time), the numbness I've gotten use to but now my hands! I can't bend them or move them easily. They are like robot fingers!! :O surprisingly tight. This morning my left ring finger couldn't bend up itself :( I have to manually move it! Now it's better but still moving fingers is uncomfortable. Not sure if I should be in water as often now since being in cold and humid condition doesn't help. They are a bit better if I cover them up warm or move around more frequently. That's why day time is lot better than when I sleep....

Last night resting on sofa Xiaobao decided to show off some of his l33t Kungfu skill, so daddy filmed it on HD camcorder we specifically get for him so that we can send HD video back to homes....Here's the clip:

Yesterday we've been out all day doing baby shopping, man he's expensive!! We bought a cot (the one we picked is the mahogany one for newborn til 3 years old), a sterilizer (comes with 3 milk bottles), an electric/manual milk pump, some milk storage bottles, 2 nursing bras, a pack of cleaning/wiper stuff with cotton sticks, a bag of newborn diapers (on discount), and some pads for myself, looks heavy duty to me :/ - didn't even know I need all that before I went to this shop. One very warm one piece jump suit for xiaobao. Oh nearly forget, we also get a combi 4 in 1 xiaobao carrier (made of Japan, breezy material). Thought we'll need this materials for using in HK such hot and humid weather. Don't want Xiaobao to have heat rash all over whenever we go out! Last thing is a thermometer

As you can see all these are not really luxurious stuff, all necessity things before and when Xiaobao arrives. They are *soooooo* expensive - every little things do add up :/ Who said having a kid is easy!

Good job that I flipped through one of those pregnancy magazines while I was at Kwong Wah the other day, I saw they advertise this baby center shop with all these discounts and special offer. So we decided to pay them a visit. Things there are lot more reasonable and practical than those we saw in Tsim Sha Tsui. I was told the Maternity 010 is the most expensive maternity shop. So I avoid going there to shop. But at first we didn't know, so we got my supportive girdle from there. Cost us around HK$3xx, but I needed that at the time and we didn't know better where else to get it. My back was hurting so we got it at 010. Yesterday just out of interest, I asked the baby center shop how much was their girdle, the most expensive one there is not even over HK$200. grrrrrr you can tell how annoyed I was! But ah well, not much we can do. Not knowing things can be expensive!

But I am glad that we visited this shop and got all our supplies with discounts and we managed to find their value packages. The cot, sterilizer, duvet (comes with 10 pieces) and a baby bath are all in this value pack. Much cheaper than if we buy it a-la-carte. But as I said, they all add up at the end....:/ :/

Typhoon...walking...rocking...

Nearly ten o'clock here, bed time for me and Xiaobao...Today typhoon signal no. 1 was in effect. It rained the whole day :/ it was almost pitch dark at 4pm...thought I had to stay behind and wait for the rain to stop before I can go home! But I need to do shopping today or else there's no food to make lunchbox for tomorrow! :/

Luckily, the rain eased a bit at 4:30, so me and Manneka decided to leave while it's drizzling...walking in the rain with bags and umbrella is difficult. My slippers are not slippery however 'cause my feet were wet, so it's wet against the slippers! I had to walk really slow and carefully, so tiring :( The ground on the MTR looks slippery too...I had to clench all my toes in order to grip onto my slippers as I walk...

Got back home at around 5:30, we shopped and cooked and now I am looking at my lunchbox, it's huge lol - I think I should just eat two egg tarts tomorrow morning for breakfast and that's it...should probably eat my lunchbox for 2 rounds...though they are all vegetables, only very little meat :) I like my lunchbox. Once you start eating home-made food, takeout meals just won't do...they taste too artificial..

Xiaobao is doing good today, moving a lot as usual. He managed to pop my girdle as I walked out of the toilet and I had to go back in to fix it. He is getting *big*...colleagues at school kept asking me 'shouldn't you be on leave now? Why are you still here...' - that's how big my tummy looks to people..they thought I am about to be in labor! But I still have a month left!!Everyday I hope Xiaobao won't be too big when he comes out...hope he's nice to me...

Last weekend, Xiaobao was sticking out - real out - as usual, I took a pic on the phone and here it is:

Lot of people are talking about taking professional pictures during pregnancy, those pictures will be taken completely naked - well I expect some sort of towel over your belly but not really naked pictures...I don't think our children would like to see their naked mom lol. But so far that's what I've got of my tummy :)

Having a parade, aren't we?

A nice snooze feels good :) This morning we got up early to grab dim-sums on the podium for breakfast. We got there by half seven since we don't wanna share a table. Last time we left straight away being told we have to share table so we figured we'll go down early this time hopefully there aren't too many people.

Luckily we got a biggish table this time, there are quite a lot of elderly there already! They must have got there at 6am! Anyway we've ordered our dim-sums and this man decided to share table with us. I guess we can't really stop others to share our table lol. Today we had hon's favourite char-siu bao, I had my feng-jao (chicken feet lol), char-siu rice rolls, quail egg siu-mai, and a pan-fried vegetable and meat buns (beijing style I can tell). Very yummy....normally we also have har-gao
(prawn dumplings) and normal siu-mai (pork dumplings). But we thought we'll try something different this time, so we didn't order those :) Don't these pictures make you hungry ;)

After breakfast, we headed back home, sat on the sofa and rest. For about an hour, I was slightly 'fishing', then I decided to push myself up and went to grab a snooze. I just got up :) Hon's still sleeping...It's lunch time soon but I am not hungry yet and definitely not hon if he's still asleep. Yesterday he fell asleep at the table for a whole day!! I knew he was asleep but I didn't know he managed to fall asleep at the table in front of his computer for nearly the whole day I was at school!! I have to say Xiaobao definitely has his sleeping and twisting genes. They both twist like snake in bed! Well right now Xiaobao is doing that in my womb but very soon we shall see the resemblance ^_^

Earlier I was trying to take a few pictures of a moving Xiaobao. He was sticking real out on my right again making my belly looked really pointy lol. However it just wouldn't show as much on the picture *sigh* - guess Xiaobao is shy already lol. Speaking of Xiaobao, he's actually having hiccup again. My friend told me that usually happens whenever the baby's having a hell of a move inside and later he'll have hiccups lol. oooh....looks like our Xiaobao doesn't seem to give up, he's still wiggling and parading around inside with his hiccups. These days with all these trapped wind and him moving around. It got me very creative into thinking that Xiaobao is making friends with these trapped wind and show them around the womb - 'This is where I stick my head in...' 'this is the soft spot I like to poke and kick sometimes' (lol) otherwise why did I get so much trapped wind lately...And oh my nose is itchy too (so as hon's :/) I hope I didn't get my colleague's cold last Thursday! Always wanting to sneeze and have blocked nose :(

Tomorrow we'll go and watch Surrogates, can't wait!!!! :D :D :D

Better sleeps

Two days in a roll, Xiaobao seems to let me sleep more at nights, on average I can sleep without getting up (ie. either to the loo or just waking up) for about 5 hours. That's pretty amazing. I can certainly feel the difference these nights' sleep do to me the next day. I can walk faster and I feel more energetic.

This morning, though, I had a lot of trapped wind, don't know how. Yesterday after school, I thought I caught my colleague's cold! I was sneezing and had blocked nose. Was better at home but this morning once I stepped out of the flat, sneezing starts again!! :-/ Plus the trapped wind in the morning, tummy wasn't too happy. Fortunately I got it out before I headed to school... so that's a relieve. Travelling with bags and Xiaobao and trapped wind isn't fun.

Today is Friday! *yay* - this Sunday we'll be watching Surrogates! Looking forward to it :) the trailer seems very good. Xiaobao will arrive soon, til then we won't have time to do anything fancy like this anymore. Shall enjoy the last few times when I can :) Don't think xiaobao will be allowed into the cinema so small lol.

Ah..the bell just rang, I have to go to my homeroom now..

Evil claws

Another rather pointless checkup at Kwong Wah today. We've literally waited for more than 2 hours and went in to see the doctor for less than 3 minutes. I was told to get onto the checkup bed, nurse showed me the baby's heart beat whilst the doctor told me about my previous two blood tests (which are fine as I expected), then doctor came over and used a plastic rule to measure my tummy. Then the horrible 'claws' came! She used both her thumb and index finger pressed on the top and the bottom of my belly - I didn't know why she did that - I just know it hurts! Didn't know you can press a pregnant belly this hard!!!

Afterward she said 'the baby's head is down already, but we won't know for sure until it's the last 3 weeks time about his position' - I thought you'll know if you use an ultrasound! That's right, never been on ultrasound at Kwong Wah before! Dr. Fong said public hospital won't give you ultrasound unless you have some problem or that you are very special, i.e. very old or troubled'. And since I am neither, chances of me having ultrasound there is zero. Every time the consultation time is getting shorter and shorter, breaking the record today! *sigh*

But nothing to complain, I have a day off from school because of that. Tomorrow is our Professional Development day. Back in school for 8:30, so that's not too bad I guess. The morning session will be fine 'cause Wil will be hosting it. Though 3 hours in the afternoon is gonna be about IT training, how to use moodle, google apps, interactive whiteboard, etc. I wonder if I can skip it if I know how to use them already...have a feeling it's gonna be a waste of time :/

Dinner's ready, I have a lot of green leaves today :D waiting for the rice to finish, then I can prepare my lunchbox!

Hammer my back please

Had a better sleep last night, only got up once to the loo. Guess I was thoroughly exhausted, went to bed at 10pm and didn't wake up until 3:20ish. Usually these days I'll wake every 2-3 hours. Last night I had about 5 hours of sleep!! Back still aches and turning in bed is still difficult but last night was relatively better than previous days.

Tomorrow is another checkup at Kwong Wah. Looks like breakfast in Burger King (mmm sausage and egg croissant and potato bites :)

Yesterday morning was *very* exhausting on my way back to school. Walking proves to be very difficult and tiring, every step I take feels so heavy and I was carrying my bag and my lunchbox bag. Used to be fine but lately (a pretty drastic change I'd say) it's been getting more and more difficult very quickly. This morning I thought I shall feel better, but when I got to Kowloon Tong, I was very tired already, I walked fairly slow (lot slower than I normal would walk) and I really wanna sit down when I got to the KCR platform, however the queue at the first class session was full and not many people in the normal space, so of course I went for the normal platform since the train is due to arrive in 1 minute. I was hoping I could get a seat on the Ma On Shan Rail. Unfortunately, I didn't get to sit down until we got to Che Kung Temple. My back was sore as I sat back and again I was sweating. Though *lot* better than yesterday.

Yesterday was crazy, I soaked my entire top and people on the train were of course staring at me. They had no idea how hot it is for pregnant women in these crazy hot days. But today is lot better, the weather I mean. It wasn't suffocating kind of hot when I went to the kitchen this morning. Usually I'll start sweating when I brush my teeth...but today I was fine...that's why I thought I should walk fairly well but still no...cos it's heavy.....:/

I had my Pocari Sweat today as usual, don't know how I can survive without it, I couldn't imagine how I'll feel if I don't have one yesterday. 4 lessons non-stop in the morning, I literally dragged myself to class but feeling a bit better as we went along...

Today I still have 5 lessons but they are all separated with breaks here and there. It shouldn't be too bad I guess...they'll be doing listening practice or presentation, so that give me a chance to sit down as well. Looking forward to after school as usual...

Xiaobao on the other hand is very active; twisting and turning everywhere he can explore. One night I had trapped wind after dinner and it's making my tummy so painful that I had to lie down and hubby was rubbing my tummy. I was taking short and fast breathe, it seems to ease the pain a bit. Cold sweat and what not...hubby asked 'what can I do to help?' I actually said 'get him out!!' Guess I lost my mind there and then.... I can now imagine those pregnant women screaming at the top of their lungs saying crazy things like 'get out of my sight, I don't wanna see you' at their husband. Read it in the pregnancy bible book and thought it's funny. Now I truly believe the possibility of its happening!

There goes my morning assembly period, lesson in about 20 minutes time, I shall get ready and head up now. Hope Xiaobao can give me strength instead of taking it ...

Can I roll instead of walk?

It's been two days since I last updated. Whenever I want to update it, I was either too tired or didn't get round to it because of work. Last Wednesday I took a medical leave and headed over to St.Paul for a quick checkup. Part of my tummy was feeling numb for some unknown reasons. Hubby found something called 'Shingles' on the 'net which could be very serious, so we thought best get it checked out before it's too late. Managed to squeeze in a time slot with Dr. Fong, we arrived at the hospital before 4pm, registered and there were 2 people in front of me that didn't show up, so we got to see him at about 5pm. Dr. Fong was a bit surprised to see me a week early (next appointment was supposed to be 24th Sept), so I explained and mentioned about 'shingles' - he said the good and bad about the Internet is that it could 'scare' people like this. Apparently shingles is very serious and it's very painful for pregnant women. Once he said the term in Cantonese, I know what I have is not it. It literally means 'growing snake' around the belly. It's a type of skin problem and a snake-like thingy will be growing around the belly, it is believe that if it grows all the way round the belly once, the person will die. Well that's what I heard when I was young anyway. I guess it should be too painful not to get it check out and waited til it grows around the belly once!

Anyway had the usual ultrasound session. Xiaobao was lying sideways (head down position), all his limbs were on my right side. No wonder my right side was always sticking out, as if it's empty on my left! Needless to say it doesn't feel good when walking or lying or doing anything for that matter. Though I was worried that he's lying horizontally because there was times when both sides of my tummy were sticking out and I had no idea how he does that apart from his lying horizontally. I wouldn't want him to be in horizontal position... not ideal for delivery.

Before meeting Dr. Fong, I had to do my routine urine test, when I gave the test paper to the nurse, she gasped and told me not to move. She said 'wow Mrs. stay still, you have 3 positives this time! We need to jab your finger' - I didn't know what 3 positives means but I know finger-jab means my sugar level in blood is too high. I was surprised and scared. A nurse took me to this room, she instructed me to sit down and don't move. Asked me what I had for lunch (well, a plate of noodles with beef - that can't be it right??), I asked her if it's painful. She said 'yes a little bit painful :/) I thought of asking if I can go get my husband but she told me not to move and she's already getting those tools ready. My heart was beating so loud and fast, anxious like hell! Don't know what it'll be like. This is my first time to get finger-jab!

She rubbed something (I guess it's alcohol) on my left hand middle finger. Then I saw the device with a needle attached to it. It's big :( and a plaster ready at the side....I thought 'look away, don't look don't look, it'll be over soon!!' - Before I could see anything, well the device was square, so it's kinda hidden from where I can see the needle going in. I asked 'it's finished?' Apparently so! *Phew* always better to be occupied with something else, so that you won't know when the needle's going in...Nurse said 'oh, it's 6.1, that's normal' - I thought 'WHAT??!! then why did you jab me!!!' *sigh*

I was told to wait outside the room. Hubby saw me standing there but it's too far for him to see the plaster on my finger, he didn't know why I had to stand there...The nurse said 'I'll give you another pee pot, the urine test might not be accurate, so I won't write that on your record, we'll do the pee pot test for you later. I asked "well this time, I dripped on the test paper for a bit longer this time, is that why it interfere with the result?", Nurse said "oh, that might be it" - my next thought "well shouldn't you tell me before?"?!! *sigh*

Since I just finished the urine test on paper, I had to wait before I could pee again in the pot. At the moment, Dr. Fong's already told me to go in. He knows about my urine test result and said 'no need to do the pee pot, you are fine' - I like how firm he is and how certain he sounds when he speaks to me. Gave me all the confidence that I am fine. He explained that usually if sugar level in blood is high, it'll show on urine test. But the blood test (finger jab) is most accurate. And 6.1 is normal (not that I know what 6.1 actually means), But I am satisfied as long as I know I am 'normal' - that's all I need to hear at that moment.

According to the length and size of Xiaobao's head, he's now a 35 weeks old baby though I was just 32 weeks (yes he's gonna be a big baby). Dr. Fong said 'well you two are big built, so your baby is likely to be big, I foresee it to be 7.5+ pounds'. Well when I was born, I weighed 7.5 pounds. Indeed what goes around, comes around....I shall experience what mom went through for me.....

We got my vitamin supplies and left the hospital at around 6ish. We went to a local burger bar and had dinner there since I didn't have preference for food that night. We both had a burger and one side dish (chips with cheese and chicken wings), the burgers were *huge*! After dinner, we headed home and got back at around 8ish. After shower, I was ready to sleep...

Lately moving around in bed proves to be *very* difficult. Every time I have to move on a count of three! Launching myself and everything, even though it might just be a turn on my side...something use to be so easy before can be so difficult right now.

I am now waking up every 2 hours during the night, either just wake up or need to visit the loo. Like the website says 'now your body is preparing/ practicing the first month of feeding your baby, i.e. waking up every 2 hours! Well it's true that having a baby to hold onto is better than dragging your heavy body to the loo alone...

I have lesson in about half an hour, I shall get ready, will write more later.

Numbness

Typhoon Kuppo has gone already, though strong wind signal no.3 and amber warning are still hoisted. Apparently some of the classrooms in school are damaged and flooded. We'll still be going in tomorrow. Shame the typhoon doesn't stay for one more day. That would have been great lol.

Just finished dinner, waiting for food to settle then do the washing up. Still drinking my orange and grape juice. Not even 8pm yet, so we are doing good tonight. Tomorrow I have three lessons, so not too bad, though always take some use to after a long weekend like this. Getting up at 6pm when there is no school just feels different when you do have to get up at 6am for school.

For some reasons, tummy is feeling numb, I can't feel much when I scratch it or poke it. Well of course I feel it if I poke it hard, but otherwise not much :/ like the skin's covered in a layer of anesthetic :/

Lunchbox for tomorrow has eggplants, vegetables, bitter marrow fried with pork. I am pretty proud of my invention. Well not that it's my invention but my first time cooking it. Not too bad I think :)

Everyday I look forward to my lunchbox time, considering it's my own cooking, doing pretty well. Though tonight was having tummyache while cooking, that's not too good an experience. But have to cook it or else no lunchbox tomorrow, that'll be bad. *sigh* wish I have alternative...but not much luck in that prospect....

Tummy is getting heavier and heavier...now after dinner, I have to literally hold it *up* with my both hands....after a few minutes and let go, I could feel the imbalance thanks to gravity :/

Typhoon Koppu

It's typhoon signal no. 8 here, all schools closed! Wonder if they'll be closed tomorrow. Only if the typhoon waited for one more day, then I might Wednesday off as well! :) Time flies, today's Monday already. Last night was a bit difficult, I had trapped wind and didn't get better until after 4 hours of stirring around. Pretty painful with Xiaobao moving around in there as well! Before, I would have taken Po Chai pills to get the wind out, now I couldn't take pills so it took me 4 hours to settle it :( having trapped wind is like family condition, we tend to get that a lot or easily get wind into our body. But since I've been pregnant, this was the first time. Don't ever want it again....painfulllllll!!

Yesterday was pretty uneventful, we went out to Dragon center for lunch, then wandered to Wellcome to do some vegetable shopping, then headed home. Been sleeping a lot lately. Can easily doze off wherever I sit or lie down. This morning I woke at 7am, slept again at 9am, then up at 11am again, then dozed off at 12pm, then up again at 2:30 !!! Only went out for afternoon tea and bank at around 5pm. After that I was reading the Pregnancy Bible at 6pm, finished the whole book at 9:30! I know everything now:)

Was just getting a bit peckish. I had a wife cake. I thought that afternoon tea will be enough as dinner...I might have some milk before i head to bed actually....I found a little story about wife cake on wikipedia, here it is :)

The lower right of my tummy still feels a bit weird, as in it's not painful but a hint of soreness. If I slightly press it, it feels better....otherwise it's sore....like a wound trying to heal....:/

Actually I might have some green grapes...

Mask on - finale

Yesterday was the last day in school with mask on. Hopefully no more mask on Wednesday when we return to school. Yes we have Monday and Tuesday off!!!!! Because there will be a 'deep cleaning' in our school, no one needs to go in!! I shall enjoy this long weekend :)

Today we went back for our last workshop about short stories, I have to say I enjoy this one better than our last one about drama. I guess the tutor is experienced so that makes all the difference. I use to think that I am not that creative a person. But today seems to show that I am the most creative one in our team (lol), we were told to come up with 4 different story outlines for the same ending and we were in groups of three, it took me less than 30 seconds to come up with not three, but four stories. Tutor came to us and said 'all done?' - we nodded, he said you guys can take a nap now lol. After each group shared their stories outlines, tutor seems to like mine the best and asking our group how we did it and did it so fast. My group mates pointed at me saying 'we have a creative one here" - that feels good, never thought I am creative :) I guess today I was just lucky enough to have my moments heh.

We finished our workshop at 12pm sharp. Katty booked the buffet in Cafe Hyatt, Shatin. Her husband and Eric drove us there. It was a very nice buffet, we all enjoyed it very much. I made sure I had a *little bit* of everything :) Let me recall, I had king prawn, water snail thingy (by the way, that's the only picture I can find on google image, the greenish snail like creature looks exactly like what I had today, I had two of that:) it's fully cooked though but they were put on a big ice to keep them fresh and cool, so it looks like as if it's raw. You can imagine it's the Japanese session of the buffet:), beef, curry chicken, dumplings, noodles, fishballs, Italian sausage, spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, fried rice, rice noodles, vegetables, pork, lotus root, peppers, Caesar salad. Dessert: tiramisu, apple pastry, ice-cream. Fruits: watermelon, honey-dew melon, papaya, pineapples, strawberries, melon, grapes, orange. Wow that does look like a lot right lol. Now you can tell what I mean by a *little* bit of everything, like I have 2 pieces of curry chicken, one dumpling, one slice of beef, one slice of pizza, etc. How how I manage to eat all these different kinds of food :) Very nice indeed!!! And guess what, I didn't even need dinner tonight hah! Though today I sweat alot, so am drinking Pocari Sweat - a type of Ion supply drink :) Went out with Hubby to grab his dinner, he fancies Freshness Burger, we walked there and that's my evening walking exercise, I thought if I am hungry later, I could eat the supple at home. That's a big 'if' though if I am ever gonna get hungry later :)

*sigh* tonight the playground out there is having function again! I think it's the ghost festival or something, lots of burning and singing opera. It's believe that the songs will scare the ghost away and people burn paper houses, paper cars to the dead, so that they can 'come and take it back' - last night the whole thing didn't finish until 12am!! Couldn't sleep.... good job I had a little snooze this afternoon, so I am not exactly tired or sleepy. I shall wait til I am sleepy enough, then I'll head to bed...

Sunday tomorrow...wonder what to do... Will go and window-shop air-con, see the price range if nothing else...

Mask on - day 4

Yesterday having to call all the parents in my homeroom, I was pretty tired in the evening. I was unconscious by 8:30! Didn't even get up and have dinner would you believe :O this morning woke up feeling very hungry (not surprised), I ate a banana and a cake before I get ready for work.

It must be the mask I am wearing that gives me ulcers and spots around my mouth. Was drinking my water in school and felt that the corner of my mouth felt a bit sore :-/ came home, looked at the mirror and my mouth was basically surrounded by tiny blisters and spots *sigh* #_# add to the unpleasantness of wearing a mask!

Today I had 3 lessons non-stop in the morning, plus I have to call the parents. Though I only have the morning first period to call however experience taught me yesterday that most parents haven't even got up yet during that time, so I thought I'll need help to finish calling all the parents and still being able to email the updates to school by noon. I called for help. After I finish all my lessons at 11:35, my colleague told me that our dear student development officer went to my colleague's desk and asked 'how come you are calling the parents, you shouldn't be call them, it should be their class teacher, Miss Li makes the phone call'. Colleague didn't make a noise. Apparently he went to my desk, saw my fully packed timetable and went back to my colleague and said 'OK, today you can help Miss Li', she then replied 'I know, that's why I was helping her in the first place cos she told me she had a full schedule this morning, it's impossible for her to make all the phone calls in time for 12pm' - The officer responded that it was the Principal's idea that only class teacher should make the call 'cause we want to appear as 'friendly and nice' instead of having admin. staff to call which sounds too 'technical' - *sigh* did he think we class teachers are too free or something!

That was the little episode today, tomorrow we have to call parents again (at least it's the last this week! Thank god), I swear that some parents are starting to find us annoying rather than 'friendly' - they must be thinking 'don't you have better things to do?' Yeah I do actually!!

One good news today though, next Monday and Tuesday the entire school will be closed for 'thorough and deep cleaning' as a preventive measure against H1N1. We were all thrilled (lol). Though this Saturday we still have to go back for more workshop, it'll be half day, finishes at 12pm, after that Katty's booked the lunch buffet at Cafe Hyatt, Shatin to celebrate *nice*. She said today 'we can REALLY enjoy our buffet this Saturday now!" - agree :)

Tonight's dinner is gonna be bitter melon fried with eggs, you might wonder what is bitter melon. It literally tastes a bit bitter, hence the name. But it's very healthy and it's considered 'cool' type of food. More for me :) Just for your information, I use to eat the ripe bitter melon, its seeds are very (red) sweet :), that's how I know bitter melon when I was young. For cooking, we only use those green ones, can't really cook the skin of the ripe ones. One only eats the seeds if it's ripe. You can see the difference between the seeds on a green bitter melon :)

Apart from bitter melon fried with eggs, also gonna have eggplants and sweet beans fried with sausages. That's it for tonight's dinner.

Ah babyplus' finished now, shall head to the kitchen...

Mask on - day 3

Yesterday was rather 'hot' in school with the mask and everything. I sat in my English group's oral lesson with their speaking teacher. I nearly fell asleep sitting there with the fan blowing on my head. I just didn't feel the air-con kicked in... after 40 minutes of trying to stay awake and the fact that they weren't really engaged nor doing what the teacher told them. It makes the whole atmosphere even more boring than it already is!

After one lesson, the speaking teacher's gone and I took over. I had to express my boredom to them by getting them all up to speed and telling them my expectation in my lessons and that I can't stand boring lessons like this. Soon enough they pulled themselves together and we finished our lesson very quickly. By then my mask was soaking wet already, difficult to breathe if nothing else. 'raining' is part of my daily routine nowadays. Yes heavy sweating. Yesterday my entire top was soaking wet by the time I arrived school! I had to let the fan blow at me constantly throughout the first period (I didn't join that oral lesson) so that my top won't have different color patches! Guess I won't be wearing that top again :P At least not in hot days (lol)

Yesterday afternoon was rather uneventful, was hoping to do some uni though I haven't finished reading the textbook, so I couldn't really...but the book's at home and everyday after school, all I am doing is cooking and washing and cleaning, by the time all is done, it'll be shower time. After shower, it's bed time (10:30), so not really time to read my book. Don't even get round to let Xiaobao listens to his YBCR CD... how can a woman do so many things in one day, to work, to cook, to clean, to wash, oh to study... *sigh* not to include the time spend(or waste) on feeling painful on the back or everywhere else ...

Today I have 2 lessons, one before and one after lunch. I had a rather big lunchbox today lol. It has u-dong (noodles), spinach, choi sum, green beans with eggs, pork knuckle meat (got it from Taste yestday), broccoli with lobster meatballs. Well the name suggests that it's made of lobster meat but I doubt it. Might be some fake processed stuff and added some color and flavourings to make it looks like lobster meat :) Don't worry, I am not eating those processed food a lot, only occasionally, actually this is the first time and I only have half of the meatball in my lunchbox. Seeing all those dish in my lunchbox, you might think my lunchbox must be huge. Well today is rather big :) but still the same box lol. Since I put a little bit of everything in my box to add variety of nutrient. Though greens portion will always be bigger than the meat bit. So seeing that pork knuckle meat picture, don't think I put the whole thing in my box hehe...just a little bit of everything really...

I also brought my sesame seed dessert, it's in the fridge right now, like it chilled :) Just for your information, Chinese have this belief that during the last trimester, I need to eat some 'cool' kind of food. 'Cool' here is not temperature kind of cool but in terms of Chinese medicine theory. It is believe that 'hot' stuff will give you spots on your face and 'cool' stuff won't. However it also has to do with one's body type. Say if you are 'hot' based body type, imagine eating lots of 'hot' stuff like chilly, durian, mango, those 'hot' type of food will thus give you more spots on your face. Whereas if you are 'cool' based body type and you eat 'cool' types of food like watermelon, sesame seed, etc. you'll feel 'weaker' relatively and it's sad that women eat those things while they are having period, it won't have with the stomach cramp. Of course these theories are non-existent in western medicine, and yet we are so used to here. I don't know what makes the food 'cool' or 'hot', I just know which kind is which, but I don't know all the food. Sometimes I need to ask around, usually older Chinese know these stuff better :) I am surrounded by those experience people in school, they'll tell me or ask me if I started eating watermelon or sesame seed dessert yet. That's how I know sesame seed dessert is 'cool' ;)

OK my first lesson is at 12:30, I shall chill and think about my uni... more updates later!

Mask on - day 1

Today is still very hot, for some reasons I didn't feel any air-con on the train to Tai Wai this morning. A very nice lady offered her seat to me, so that I can at least sit down. Breathing heavily and 'raining' like a pig. Got back to school at 7:54am. Oops one more minute late, I'll be talked to by someone :P Guess I did walk rather slow this morning ...

I didn't have my double period this morning which was very good (because of the flu suspension), I did some more planning for my other class. It's coming out nicely, can't wait to show my students what they need to do (lol). Basically some more project/ presentation for them to do :P

After my double period with the G8 students, I bumped into Wil on my way back to my desk. Apparently he's visiting other English teachers' lessons. Wish he came to mine 'cause today my students were doing presentation, so it's very student-centered. I know he likes to see lessons like that. And to be honest, I think I'll make it more like this, I do a hell of a lot less in lesson and students are more engaged. My students are using the computer to do their presentation, I was just there to give comment and asking them further questions. I quite like this class, at least they show signs of independent thinking during lesson! Now that's something :) I can work on their critical thinking skills :) Aren't I integrating technology into my classroom now *giggles*

One more lesson to go in....6 minutes. I shall go to the loo and get ready now. More updates later.

Kung fu xiaobao

So far today kinda uneventful. Didn't have dinner last night. After breakfast this morning, picked up some more vegetables and cooked some sweet corns for snacks. Am now making mung bean soup (it's *cool* for the system, I should eat more during my last few months to ensure smooth delivery, yes some Chinese believes which I thought I'll follow, no harm done cos I like different sorts of beans anyway)

Watermelon is another *cool* fruit, so am drinking watermelon juice to cool (temperature wise here) down cos I just came from the kitchen which is always boiling hot! Our air-con is really messed up, need to replace it because I reckon it'll die any time soon. Basically the room just isn't 'cold' at all after leaving it on for the whole night and we even need to have the fan on when sleeping...well it is more than a decade old now. This is the only air-con I've seen ever since I am in HK (lol) I guess it's been doing its job quite well...time to retire...

Xiaobao wise, he's seriously kicking some *shxt* out of me lately. Whilst I am typing, he's sticking out real hard, my tummy is basically a triangle in the front! People here say a round tummy is a girl and a pointy one is a boy. I think he likes others to know it's a he. Well we all know that ... can you please stop sticking out or kicking...Sleeping proves to be a bit more difficult now that he's so 'active'. He used to react to babyplus and move around when it's on, but now he's just having fun kicking the devise while listening to it. Either way, I am getting all the kicks. See the picture, he's sticking all the way on my right! It's stone hard. No exaggeration.

Tonight we are gonna have sweet peas with ham, sausages fried with eggs (so far that's what we have in the fridge), might have to get more ingredients later. Oh we have beef, but nothing to fry it with. Need broccoli...I just saw a growing garlic underneath the cooker - strange...it must have been there since mom!!!, it's growing antennas....

As for lunch, think we'll have noodles with lettuce and fish balls :) For your reference, 'fish balls' aren't really it's literal meaning of being fish's balls. Instead they are made of fish, just in the shape of a ball. They come in different forms, some are deep fried fish balls (they are not crispy though) just that they have a golden coat to it instead of the normal white. Or you can have curry fish balls. One of our famous local snacks here on the street. Loads in Mongkok. This picture will do :) this dude is enjoying his fish balls with a cold drink. On his back is our typical stalks in Mongkok selling street snacks. They are not especially expensive, usually $5 or $10 for each item. Depends on what you order, you might as well having your lunch there having different variety of snacks. Oh trust me, they can fill you up.

Anyway enough for the fishballs, tomorrow is school again! Goes so fast when you have to be at work on a Saturday. I'll have to wear mask in school starting tomorrow...not looking forward to that...teaching with mask on is very 'hot'!

H1N1 update

After my OGTT test, yesterday I resumed work. I thought it's gonna be tiring and difficult for me because I have quite a lot of lessons and most of them were double periods. However, it's lot better than I thought. I prepared my lessons once again in the morning. Though yesterday morning wasn't easy. My tummy wasn't cooperating, it's been hard a couple of times. During my sleep as well, making it very difficult to turn round. And my back hurts very badly even when I am lying down, so need hubby to rub it from time to time, then I could sleep/rest for a bit...

Yesterday I skipped the morning assembly because of my hard-tummy, making me walk very difficult. On my way to work, my right hand and feet were numb (how is that possible when they were constantly moving around!) I did do a bit of a research the night before and found out about something called the Braxton Hicks Contractions that pregnant women during their last trimester might experience, I kept thinking if I am having that at the moment whenever my tummy go hard. This is a different hardness than before when Xiaobao was moving and sticking out. Now when my tummy gets hard, I know Xiaobao isn't moving....though I tried not to read too much into it...as long as it is something normal... no one says being pregnant is a fun and easy ride :)

Today is Saturday, I am at school again. Attending yet another NSS workshop for short stories. I quite enjoyed this one. The tutor is half Chinese, half Australian (I could tell from his accent), time passed quickly in the morning session. Suddenly Eric got a call from school and said him and I will have to stay behind and see Angela at lunch (our class might have to be suspended!), thank god I wasn't starving at that time, we didn't join others for lunch instead we were mad crazy calling all our students' parents informing them that one of our G9 student is a confirmed case of H1N1, so three classes will be suspended for a week. My class is one of them.

I have already called all the parents except one that I still couldn't reach! Now that three classes are suspended, next week I'll have three lessons maximum everyday. I think that's the only good news about it. Other than that, I'll have to wear mask everywhere I go...*sigh*

Stay tune for more updates

Second OGTT test

Today I went for my second arranged OGTT test in the hospital. I woke up at 6:20 this morning and ready to go at 7:15, we got there at the hospital at about 10 minutes to 8. There were already 2 women arrived before me. I took the no. 3 badge which means I'll be the third one to get jab.

The nurse arrived at 8:05, it's the same one as last time, I know she'll do a good job cos last time it didn't hurt as much:). By 8:15, I've already got my jab. She told me that since it's my second time for the test, she'll take one more tube for testing the blood color (I don't know they need to test my blood color, or maybe there is another term for that which I don't know...so you might not know what I mean), I thought I'll have to be jab twice in one go...but just one jab and she changed two tubes *phew* :). After that I grabbed my sugar drink which I longed for since last night! This time the drink didn't taste as nice, it's way too sweat that it actually tasted bitter :/ this time it took me 20 minutes to drink it all... Last time I was consciously drinking it slow and it took me 10 minutes...ah well... afterwards I feel so full but I hoped I won't throw up cos the nurse kept telling us to take our time so that we won't throw up (can't even spit) or else we'll have to go back and do the test again the next day. Won't want that...The reason why we can't even spit and if we do, we have to let the nurse knows. She said because we don't know how much sugar content is there in the spit, so that might affect the test result. Hence will have to redo everything again.

I waited in the room for 2 hours, today I couldn't help but fell asleep for about 15 minutes...other women were wearing cardigan cos it's cold but I didn't find it cold at all, was quite nice actually...woke up at around 9:30, I read some more newspaper and at 10am, I went down and pay the fee and came back up with the receipt because I'll need to give that receipt to the nurse before she'll do my second jab. So far so good, I didn't burp, or spit, or feel sick or throw up. Nurse called my name at 10:35 and after that I went out and met hubby and went for my well-deserved breakfast at burger king. Got my usual croissant-wich meal breakfast with a cup of tea! ahhhhhhh :D

We were supposed to hang out for a bit after the hospital visit, but since hubby's computer was acting up and he couldn't post online, so we have to come home. I forgot to take my morning pill with me anyway, so we could do with going home first.

I am at home now with a freshly made bottle of fruit juice (this time I have grapes, dragon fruit and orange with lots of ice), niceeeeee and cooooool :)

Last night wasn't so good though. I left school at around 6:20 because I was busy preparing lesson plan for today so that someone can substitute my lessons. It's always hard at the beginning of the term, never know what to do with the kids! Anyway I finished that and prepared all the materials for today AND also think about what to do with them upon my return on Friday cos I won't time to do it on Friday morning...so hope everything's fine...Then we'll have our weekend break!! Wanted that more than anything. A full day in school proves to be very tiring for me...after lunchtime, I am technically dragging myself through the day...When the kids are dismissed, I could just fall asleep. That's why yesterday I nearly fell asleep preparing the lesson plan, but I couldn't sleep until I finish those....you can imagine...

Didn't cook last night when I got home, I could have, but I guess I was too tired and can't be bothered, so we went out for dinner. Got home at around 8:45, put babyplus on for Xiaobao. I fell asleep before babyplus finished. The next time I woke it was already 3am!!! *doh!* I missed my last time to drink water *argh*!!! Again this morning I soooooo want to drink the water in my toothbrush jar!

Xiaobao is now listening to the YBCR CD, he still likes it. Pity that I can't do it everyday with him, especially if I come home late, after preparing dinner, it'll be time to put babyplus on and before that finishes, I would have fell asleep already!

Let's hope tomorrow will go faster in school...

Oh yesterday one of my students last year got me a souvenir from Taiwan, very nice of him. It's perfumed necklace :)

1st day in school

Last night I woke 6 times! (23:58, 02:08, 03:04, 04:28, 05:00, 06:00) How weird I remember all these 6 time slots eh! I guess I was more worried than I thought. I was just *not* looking forward to today for some reasons. Maybe I don't really feel that I've had my summer holiday break. So I didn't really feel recharged or anything, plus my tummy's getting bigger and bigger, so I guess that doesn't help :)

I got back to school today at 7:34 (sign in time is by 7:55) so I am nice and early. Felt kinda energetic this morning, at least I can walk fast (unlike yesterday I was crawling), listening to my music, met some of my students, I put up my 'happy face' seeing them and soon enough I got into the 'first day school mode'. Turned out the class teacher period in the morning wasn't too bad. My partner was very nervous obviously. He's very good at talking (lecturing), some of the students were falling asleep but still he kept on going... :/ though he's a very nice person. Kept reminding the students how important it is to be careful around me because I am pregnant and how everybody should help each other and be caring. All these are very nice ideas but you have to see the look on these students' face *sigh* just wish they can appreciate it...

Around 11am, we went to the Hall, met some of my ex-students. They all said how much they missed me already and that my tummy's getting bigger heh (yes suppose to be lol). According to the schedule, the function in the hall should finish at 11:30 but it didn't finish until 12pm! When we went back to the classroom, a janitor found me and said 3 of my ex-students were waiting at the gate to see me, so I had to leave my partner in the classroom and went down to get them in. I was told that I have to accompany them until they leave school. So I skipped the last part of the homeroom period...

When the students left at 12:30, right after we were called to have this class teacher meeting in the conference room. They really don't have any time concept! It should be lunch time!!! I was starving already *sigh* they said it'll be a quick one. So much for being *quick*, we didn't get to leave until 1:30. I was thoroughly expired!!!! I need to eat or else I'll faint!!!

We quickly grabbed our lunch next door at the canteen and came back for yet more meeting. Jeff talked to me about how 'messy' it was when I was gone and it happened that he didn't give out the Folders which students are supposed to sign it and return tomorrow...He's so nervous, kept asking me if he needs to tell anybody about this, I said no, just distribute them tomorrow. I really wanna tell this man to just 'chill' !!

He looks way mature than me, so he can't be 'new' to teaching...ah well...I guess a nervous and sincere teacher better than irresponsible one :) so I think I am still lucky to pair up with him. Even though he said earlier 'wish you are the CT and I am the ACT' lol.

Tomorrow I'll have 2 lessons, still pondering on what to do with them. Hope they'll behave in my class. it's 4:44pm now, we can leave now, I guess I'll do more searching from home...

More updates later!

Last day in before work begins

Today we mainly stayed in. Got up at 6am, put babyplus on for Xiaobao. Blended pineapple and grape juice (nice!) and then after babyplus finished, we headed down to yum-cha. Only ate 3 dim-sums this time. Back home listened to YBCR CD *happy xiaobao*, then I dozed off while the CD's playing! After that I went to lie down for abit, thought it'll be 30-min rest. But didn't get up until 1:30!

Got up, made myself some rice noodles with green peas and eggplants. Hubby still asleep til nearly 4pm. Went to wake him up (or else he won't wanna sleep tonight!) and made him some meat balls and wontons, he liked it:)

While he's eating, I was preparing tonight's dinner, we are gonna have green peas fried with sausages and color peppers fried with eggs. Gonna go out in a bit to get some eggs. Last time we bought some condiment holders, I took them out, cleaned out a place to put it near the sink, should be more convenient now. I like the new cooker, it's fast, it's convenient, making cooking so much easier!

Was thinking of making red beans with lotus seeds yesterday but didn't get round to making it :/ Also thinking how am I going to prepare my lunch box to take it to school when school starts. This year our lunch time will be at 1pm, I'll be hungry and starving before then! Especially I have non-stop 5 lessons on Monday, will need to *swallow* my lunch and nibble something during recess, or else before lunchtime, I would have passed out already! Need some more pondering on that ...

mmmm dragon fruit and pineapple drink....

Two days of being zombie-like

I was so frustrated that the post I was typing yesterday (the whole day) was all wiped out because this morning my PC at school was giving me grief and before I remember, IT technician has already rebooted my machine, so everything's gone....*sigh*...

These few days were quite hectic and tiring for me. First there were too many meetings in school, which involves a lot of sitting down. Yesterday's meetings were ridiculous, it starts from 9:30 and didn't finish until 6pm!!! They tried to incorporate 'games' during the meetings hopefully to make it more lively and interactive, however no matter how good 'games' are, after awhile, you'll get bored and lost interest and most importantly energy. I sat down for too long yesterday (and I was wearing jeans) that I felt my entire guts were mingled in one lump and that when I stood up, I wanna bend myself backwards just to untangle my all internal organs! :-/ My feet were horribly swollen too, however there was no where for me to put my feet up, so at 4:30, I couldn't stand it anymore, and decided to head back down to the staff room and took a rest.

I rested til 5pm and still the previous meeting hasn't finished. We were supposed to have the class teacher meeting from 4-5pm!!! I thought I won't wait any longer, so decided to head home and told my colleague that I won't join the next meeting. Thank god I have a partner this year to handle the class teacher affair. Got back home around 6pm, got a text from colleague that they finished at 6pm! Jesus Christ!

Didn't rest/sleep well last night, woke this morning at 5am and couldn't wanna get up at 7am, I got up as if I haven't slept at all!! :/ today we still have to go back to school for the drama workshop from 9-4pm! :( Yes, today is Saturday here......

I wasn't feeling exactly fresh nor energetic this morning. The morning session of the workshop was OKish, but I was hungry at 11am. We finished at 12pm and headed to lunch, by then I was crawling myself cos I was starving already and I didn't have much strength, I just want food, any food will do .... we crawled to the canteen next door and I ordered a fried rice...

After food, I felt a *bit* better but somehow my energy still hasn't come back. I thought 'ok, I'll have something cold to wake myself, I'll have an ice-cream cone!' So I did. We started our afternoon session of the workshop at 1pm sharp. There were some games that I couldn't join in because they involves running around and bumping into people, so I was sitting aside and watched them play. I put my feet up on a chair and my head felt soooooo heavy and my back was hurting too....after 1.5 hours of that, we had a 10-min break, I thought 'I have to have some coffee' or else I'll go flat like a dead battery. I haven't had coffee for a long time cos I don't want to take caffeine if I can avoid it. But today I couldn't because otherwise I don't know how I can come home from school! So I made myself a cup of coffee (with lots of water, hopefully it won't be too strong - it's those instant coffee powder). I slowly drank it... didn't really do much though I finished it. After that, my mouth went sour...sighs...

I asked my colleague if he drives today and asking him if he minds driving me to TaiWai station, he's nice enough to offer to drive me home. Thank him for that.

We finished the workshop at 4pm. While others asking me if I am leaving, I told them that Eric's driving, if anyone wanna tag along, 2 more girls joined us. Since Eric's going to Tseung Kwan O to fill his car, so he asked if it's ok to drop me off at Prince Edward (it's fine cos it's only 2 stops away from home). Me and another girl left together and once again I had to drag my tired body onto the train again...

Climbing up the stairs was extremely tiring today *_* but I got home finally at around 5pm... I had to lie down and rest, so I put on babyplus for Xiaobao while I rest. You might guess I'll fall asleep right away, but I didn't. I just closed my eyes and still awake actually...I guess that's the ultimately 'exhausted' stage where I couldn't even sleep....Xiaobao sensed how tired I am and he's been moving around too, sometimes so much that as if my tummy's having an earthquake!

Got up and hubby made us some wantons, ate it and tummy didn't feel too well (lower left side tummy's feeling weird) so we went to lie down and woke up again at 9:30, tummy's OK now as I typed this.... I think I'll put Xiaobao's YBCR CD for him, he hasn't had his dose yesterday...:( sorry Xiaobao.... he likes his songs...

Tomorrow will be the last day of this summer holiday...school starts on Tuesday but of course we all have to go back in on Monday which will be another full day for all of us...God bless me....

Luncheon with Alex

(Yesterday I fell asleep half way through typing, shall continue today!)

Today I met with up Alex, my ex-secondary classmate for lunch. He's working in Laos, an island near Bangkok. He's staying in HK for about 2 weeks, leaving this weekend. We had lunch at the Green Place with his sister. Basically just touching base and sighing how 'old' we are now, we've been friends for about 15 years now since secondary school! Alex is going to get married next year and will probably move back to HK then. Unfortunately his father passed away last year. I remember the last time I saw him he was really thin. He had diabetes and heart attack. Passed away on a taxi :( Though his family is doing fine, his mother is still working, sister will be studying in ChuHai (another campus of HKBU) majoring in Teaching English As Second Language. At least she'll be able to come home every weekend. So they are all moving on nicely.

After lunch, they walked me back home, then I met up with hubby to do some shopping in Wellcome and then have his haircut. He needs to look presentable for a meeting with the British Council people sometime this (or next) week. More updates later!

Today I called the TownGas people, we are going to have gas!! Instant hot water for shower and no need to wait for the boiler to boil and all that hassle. This is their promotional month, so we get 30% off the boiler and special price for a cooker. They'll come up and install the equipment this Friday between 10-11am.

This morning in school was OK, I had one meeting for the Life-Planning Team. Then I did some more tidying at my table and I got my desktop copies for the textbooks and stuff. Afternoon we went to Yeh Lam Kwok for lunch (9 of us in total!) After lunch, I headed home, met up with hubby and we went to grab the HK version of 'cream tea' in the UK :) it's a pineapple bun with a slice of butter in the middle and a cup of (milk) tea. I have been in HK for all these years and I haven't had this tea ever :) so I thought I'll try that today. We found a local 'tea restaurant' that does it. We enjoyed it but next time I'll just buy it in the bakery shop :) (half price!). By the way, pineapple bun has nothing to do with pineapple, it doesn't taste like pineapple either. But I guess it's the crisp on the top looks like pineapple's skin, that's why. I think Momsie and Paula will love this bun :)

Last night I made asparagus and sausage salad, hubby liked it and was asking for it for tonight. Though after lunch today we found this Green River restaurant that Louis mentioned before, so we'll go try that tonight. I'll make the asparagus salad with sausage for hubby so that he can have it for lunch tomorrow.

The perfect position

Just got back from St. Paul. Here's the update for you guys :)

After I got back from Kwong Wah, mattress has already arrived and hubby put it in bed. I then put the brand new bed sheet over it. Took me longer than I thought to do it cos of the awkward position I was in and the mattress was heavy...But eventually we've got the bed sorted and tonight we're gonna have a good night 'supportive' sleep for once!

Time flies it was already 4:30 after we finished sorting the bed. We took a taxi to St.Paul since hubby isn't feeling his best today. We got to St.Paul at 5:30, registered and found out that I was 14 on the list. So we figure we could go out, grab dinner and then head back. We met up with Nick and Mercy and walked over to Cafe Tornado for dinner. Hubby had his favourite salmon set, me, Nick and Mercy has the vegetarian version mushroom pasta. Was nice! We left Tornado at around 8:15. Got back to the hospital and I was the second one to go in. Good timing! Quickly went to do the urine test and everything was fine as usual.

Met Dr. Fong and introduced Nick and Mercy. This time we recorded the ultrasound session. Dr. Fong even gave a longer than usual explanation for our visitors sake:) very nice of him. Haven't checked the video yet, Hubby will do that later :) According to Dr. Fong, Xiaobao's head is now facing down and his face is facing inside me. This is the 'perfect position' for delivery! Good Xiaobao :) I asked if the baby will be able to move back up again. He said not likely enough room cos he's growing bigger and bigger heh. It means all the time the 'round hard thing' that sticks out my tummy I used to think it's Xiaobao's head is actually his bum bum lol. Now I can surely pat away! Xiaobao was very active while we were having dinner. However during the ultrasound, since he's facing downward and his face facing me, it's difficult to see his face this time. We had to use some more imagination. But we saw he's clenching his fist :) and we saw his eyes, his ears and oh his 'pin pin' ;) (Guess what that is lol)

After the consultation, I waited for my vitamin pills and my sick leave for tomorrow (good...a day in to rest! :) we were on our way home. Nick and Mercy went to take a bus home whereas me and hubby took the MTR home.

Here we are, arriving at 10:15 pm :)

My next appointment with St. Paul will be in 4 weeks time. Next month, I'll have 3 different appointments on three different days in two different hospitals :)

Routine checkup

The checkup today in Kwong Wah was again pretty useless. I arrived at the hospital smack on time, waited for about 20 minutes, my name was called to do the urine test. I was fine. Then waited for another 10 minutes to measure my blood pressure and weight. This time I weigh 87.6kg (193 pounds), still far from ideal but it's less than what I had before in St. Paul (201 pounds) last month! Though we'll see tonight, maybe the scale in St.Paul doesn't like me or something...

After another hour, a nurse walked my way and said 'you are next, come in this room' - it's the ultrasound room. I was excited for awhile thinking I'll see xiaobao this time! Great! Much to my disappointment, once I got in, it was just routine (boring) session with them listening to xiaobao's heart beat and that's that. The doctor asked me (which I can recite now) 'any blood, discomfort, abnormal discharge?' I said no to all of those. Then she instructed me to hop on the bed. Found xiaobao's heartbeat (of course) then pressed my tummy here and there for awhile. Saying 'you are on the large size, be careful of your weight and size OK?' Yes I know that before I come here, mom told me everyday. And I am watching what I eat and how much I eat... Down the bed I went, sat down and the nurse told me to wait for my next appointment slip and that if I have any more questions to ask doctor. I then asked if it's normal to have my feet swollen up so early as compare to other pregnant women. Doctor said 'it's probably the baby's sitting on your bladder that's why you don't pass the fluid out as normal' - see the word 'probably'? Anything they know are 'exact'? 'probably not' lol

Then I asked if I can massage or press my feet where it's swollen. Doctor mumbled for a bit and not exactly giving me any answers whatsoever. Wasn't impressed at all...Lastly the nurse asked again 'anymore questions to ask doctor?' - I thought to myself even if I do, not that she can answer me...I shall ask Dr. Fong tonight! So off I left and pronounced another day wasted in these public hospital. (Good job I don't have to pay)

I'll have my next glucose test on the 3rd September and then another routine checkup on the 23rd same month.

Now we should get ready to go to St.Paul now for some REAL consultation! Oh let me get my camera!

Stay tuned for more updates!

YBCR day 1

Me and xiaobao started listening to Your Baby Can Read (YBCR)starter video. Xiaobao seems like to like it whenever these two songs come up. One is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Incy Wincy Spider. I was lying down as we listen to the DVD, xiaobao moving around in all sorts of direction :)

I am just wondering how I can do that when school starts. Suppose to listen to it first thing when I wake up and then after meal in the afternoon. Before I sleep, I will listen to the phonics CD for 30-45 minutes. Will do that tonight - see how it goes :) more updates tomorrow on that.

Xiaobao will listen to this starter video for about one month and see how he goes. Then the other DVDs for either a month or two months. Depends on how xiaobao does. If he can recall everything then, we can move along. People said if I start listening to them now, when xiaobao's born, he'll be familiar to the song and feel comfortable and safe. It will probably calm him down too :)

I am looking forward to tomorrow's checkup at St. Paul, I can't wait to see xiaobao again! This time I'll charge my camera and see if we can record the process. Last time xiaobao yawned three times and at the same time rubbing his face during the ultrasound, he looked so cute!! :)

So far, I can 'communicate' to xiaobao upon demand. If I rub or pat, he'll response and move around :) Sometimes he'll stick up real high and turn really hard. I think that's either his bum or his head :) Earlier we were walking around in the Dragon Center looking for a small blender. Xiaobao got excited and stick up real high that I couldn't breathe comfortably and making me wanting to go to the loo. After we bought it, he's fine :P will blend some fruit juice later...

We have oranges and grapes. Wonder what it tastes like... :) mmm

Seminar and exhibition day

The baby signs seminar this afternoon was OK. Thought it'll last for 2 hours but actually it only lasted for 30 minutes. We've learned 20 baby signs. Here's a video I found on youtube that has some baby signs that we've learned today like 'eat','daddy','mommy', 'milk', 'more', 'finish', etc.

After that it's Q & A session, most of the parents' left. Though Tony, the other saleman we met in Shatin when we bought the set came and chatted with me, first I really thought he's just being nice and chatted with me, until he took out a grey folder did I know he's trying to make another sale by talking me into buying yet another bulk. Saying they can still give me the discount before, instead of paying for the full cost, only pay the difference which will be another $30,000! Basically he's trying to up sale me stuff! We had to think of an 'excuse' to leave. They didn't look happy - ah well it is their job to do that I suppose.

After the seminar, we went to Wanchai Convention and Exhibition Center to join Nick and Mercy at the UK Education Exhibition. Hon grabbed his beloved Chai Tea Latte and wandered to the center. We walked around for awhile and surprised to find that Liverpool University wasn't there. I found Manchester and Sheffield University though...

Then we headed over to the other side of the Convention Center to check out the Computer and communication exhibition. We have to get tickets for this one. After a long walk to the far end of the center we finally got in. It's *jam packed* with people, so walking around in there means having people breathing down your neck! I have to protect xiaobao at the same time followed hubby and also looked at stuff. He wants to buy a laptop to do his editing work. At last we found this ASUS laptop for around $5000, free upgrade to 4GB of ram. After we bought it, it's already past 6pm. So we headed for dinner. I had noodle and hubby had steak. Got home at around 8:30pm...

Listened to phonics CD and xiaobao seems to like it. Now babyplus' on. Hubby is watching Entrapment. I think I'll just relax and rest til I fall asleep...

A night out at Nick's

Turned out we spent a lovely evening at Nick's last night when Kit visited. She went through all the products with us and explained how they are used and where we should put it. Nick and Mercy love the Dinoops Magic pen which will read out the text and making all sorts of sound as you point it to the story book. We were all fascinating at how it works. Just buying the pen itself will be $1380 :/ (about 108 pounds!!) best not drop this pen! If Xiaobao decides to throw it to the floor, then that's that lol.

Kit suggested that I best start listening to the CDs and songs and DVDs, some CDs like the phonics ones, it works subconsciously; so even though I fall asleep, it'll still work...so Xiaobao will have babyplus AND the CDs to boost his brain :) anything to make our baby smart!

After the explanation, Kit left and I gave mom a quick call. Then we all head down to the 'new place' Nick suggested. That was already 10pm. Wonder if they'll still serve us. Turned out they did! It's a very nice Chinese restaurant, I looked at the menu, average price ranges from $70-$80, Nick said 'Let's just go this time' - so we went in. We saw this grand decor and everything , feels like we were eating in a hotel! The manager was very nice, talking to us and explaining and recommending dishes to us. He tried his best to accommodate us, making dishes (vegetarian) just for us. We ended up having 3 vegetarian dish (one is a kind of green vegetable, we call it the King's vegetable, next one is lily flower petal with asparagus, and also tofu), we also have a fish (for me, thanks Nick!), soup, rice noodle and fried rice (half portion each) and then the manager (named Paulus) gave us a fruit bowl on the house. Very nice of him indeed. We had papaya, dragon fruit and watermelon. All very nice!

After the food, we all left with a full stomach back to base. We took a lot of pictures with me standing up, sitting down, lying down, my tummy, my swollen feet. Everybody was in camera for at least 30 times lol. Eventually my body decided to tell me it's going to fall asleep, so I dozed off for a bit on the sofa. When Hubby next woke me up, we were ready to leave...Took a taxi home and it was already 1:30...Totally exhausted and went straight to bed til this morning...

This afternoon we will be going to Carnarvon Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, their learning center to attend a seminar on baby sign language. Stay tune with more updates :)

SS Staff meeting --> aching

After the throw-up session few months ago, this morning it comes back again :/ I have no idea why. I didn't eat anything unusal last night. Just that I woke up feeling hungry which is not unusual. Threw up during brushing teeth, got up at 7 but didn't leave the bathroom until 7:30! Had 3 french bread today, drank my milk and had my remaining few grapes. (Need to buy some more fruit today after work).

Since I have my new desk now, I thought it'll only make sense if I start going to my new staff room office instead of the old one. However yesterday I still didn't have a computer set up on my desk, I figured I will bring my laptop back in today and hon's dongle. Now writing this sitting at my new seat. I have a window view, not too bad I guess (though I think it'll make me wanna go home even more looking outside lol)

Thanks to Eric, my colleague, he found my other huge box somewhere and my other stuff were all in there. Yesterday I thought I lost all my mugs (include my Sarah mug ^_^!) amongst other things. But Eric found it for me! Thank you Eric. The fact that I am getting bigger and bigger by the day, I need a lot of help around school. Like yesterday during the staff meeting, we were all having lot of group games and stuff, moving chairs, picking up things. When I tried to go and get my chair, my colleagues all said to me 'go away Sarah, we'll get it for you, go go go!' This morning I had to plug in my power cord for the mac but the socket is right underneath my desk which means I have to crawl under it. Bonnie helped me instead (even though she's wearing high heels) And of course any physical labor moving bulky heavy stuff, there's always Eric. I am very thankful to all of them!

Today I didn't put my girdle on since I am wearing a rather tight sweat pants. Xiaobao's moving (well sticking out real high) quite a lot last night and this morning on my way to school. I can feel his head sticking out nearly beneath my chest! A bit of rub rub and pat pat, he then decided to move somewhere else. I think it's his way of playing with me? :) At other times after dinner, I will feel some smaller sized hard bits, I think it's his hands or feet, I will slightly press it and it'll sink down heh. Very funny :) Just that when he decided to stick his head out and up my guts when I am sleeping, it'll wake me up or make difficult breathing. And oh turning in bed from lying on my back to my side involves me holding my tummy first before I attempt to move. Otherwise it'll sort of pull my back or half of my body will feel tingly. All these joys! Moreover, few days ago, I started seeing some purple lines along the side of my tummy :/ I think my belly has finally decided to add some patterns for me. So I applied some moisturizer on it few days ago. Last night after shower, I saw my right side of the belly 'ah the color's lighten a lot', I thought 'yay, the moisturizer is working!' Until I saw the middle of my lower belly, there are new ones coming, *sigh* lol I don't know if the moisturizer will actually make a difference. Lot of people said on online forum that some of pregnant women started using cream from Day 1 but still after delivery, their tummy is still like a purple cauliflower. Of course some women said 'oh it's very useful, my tummy's perfect!' I guess only one way to find out!

*Meeting time* *gone at 9:28*
It's 11:39 now, feeling hungry so headed out and just ate 2 oranges. Going back to the meeting. It's 3 hours long! And that is if it doesn't overrun, otherwise we can't leave at 12:3o :(
*gone again*

Guess where am I now! HOME!!! The meeting didn't finish until 1pm. I was absolutely aching everywhere and starving! Xiaobao wasn't happy either, he started from moving (to show his discomfort to not moving at all cos I was hungry) We left right after meeting to Tai Wai to grab food cos I can't wait anymore! After food, xiaobao's happy again and started sticking his head up again, so all was fine... I had beef with salad and extra dish of green vegetable :)

Today my bag's a bit heavy, so hubby meet me in MTR and at the same time he grabbed his lunch and we went shopping in Wellcome getting some more washing powder (ran out).

Don't know if we'll be going to Nick's tonight because Kit (the woman from the reading program) contacted me today asking if it's OK to have the family visit tonight at 8:30. She's fully booked this weekends, the earliest will be next week and school'll start getting busy so...

Waiting for Nick to get back (they were on the ferry going home) to us, more updates...

First staff meeting

Today afternoon we had our first staff meeting (both primary and secondary staff) in the school Hall which lasted for 2 hours hosted by Dr. Wil Chan. It was boring because there were a lot of activities. But since it's all group games and I am rather on the difficult side to kneel, squat, jump, crawl, etc. so basically I was standing aside and looking at my group mates. Before the meeting finished, we had some refreshment which are some mini tarts of different styles. I had a fruit tart, wasn't too bad.

I left around 4:15 with the other English team. Got home around 5pm, put babyplus on wasn't feeling hungry but hubby hasn't eaten anything the whole day so we wanna go and grab food after babyplus' finished. I rested in bed whilst waiting trying not to fall asleep. Though later hubby had a bit of headache so he applied some 4head and hopefully it'll kick in and we can then go for dinner.

Dinner at the Green place near home, hubby has his usual fried instant noodles with pork and I had green peas with pork. We also ordered a separate dish of ChoySum, I need my daily greens intakes :) to make sure I have a smooth 'loo business' lol. Apart from that, we also had chilly wantons (HongYouChaoShou) as starter to munch on whilst waiting for our mains to arrive. Hubby also had his Swiss coffee that he likes and his TsingTao to go with his meal.

After meal, we wandered home, was hoping to get some fruits but no luck, shall munch on the remaining grapes and hopefully find something else tomorrow! Having various fruits every meal is different cos I can't buy too many fruits in case I can't finish them and hence wasted but then just eating one kind of fruit is not enough, at least 3 different kinds... Yes I can get those fruit salad like those in starbucks, but they are expensive....

Today I have sort of started moving my stuff across to my new desk which is 'technically' bigger than others. Since my desk is by the wall, so I can move all the slide table along the wall whilst others have to put theirs under their table which means they can only use half of the table surface. I like my new desk. Tomorrow I shall continue moving stuff across and start getting my desk copy of the textbook and do some planning!

It's half 10 now, shall get ready for bed. More updates tomorrow! Stay tune!

The story for two mugs

Hubby mentioned in his writing that he forgot to take that two mugs for Nick. Actually we have got a lot of mugs from 7-11 since we like to buy drinks there so we've got a lot of stickers to redeem mugs. I asked Nick if he likes some, he said two. So I took out two mugs and put them in a plastic bag together with hubby's umbrella on the piano. Somewhere it's easily seen and that he can just take it as he heads out.

I reminded him in the morning before I head out....when I asked him again through text when he's on his way if he's got the mugs. He texted back saying 'ummmm' Now knowing my husband, he sometimes like to 'tease' me, letting me think something otherwise. And the fact that he thinks I always think 'negative' about things, so I thought 'OK this time, I'll stay positive and assume he's just playing with me. I texted him back 'OK so you've got it then :P' - However the one time I stayed positive, he replied back to me 'I forgot' - sigh....... that's my husband :)

He said he can't see them on the piano since they are in the plastic bag. I thought putting them in the plastic bag for him will make it easier and faster for him to just pick it up and go. But guess not. Next time, I shall put a string and tie it to his head like how they tie a carrot on donkey's head, that way he'll definitely see! But I guess til then, it'll be 'I don't have my glasses on' or 'I didn't have my contacts on' lol :P

Anyway no big deal, we'll just have to give it to Nick next time we visit him, which should be soon since the staff will want to visit us to go through all the reading program materials that we got delivered today. Still waiting for her to call me....

More updates later!

What a beautiful day (hot)

After a much needed sleep last night (at 12am) I didn't want to get up this morning after babyplus' finished. However today is the day my office in the new staff room finished decorating and my stuff will be moved there for me, so I want to make sure I come back here and unpack. I wouldn't have any idea how busy it'll become after this week, so best get it out of the way :)

Yesterday was fruitful I'd say in Whampoa, we got the bed we want! :) Before heading out to Hung Hom to meet up with Nick for lunch, I was already feeling peckish, then hungry, then peckish for 2 hours :P thank god I still have one small french bread, a pack of soda biscuits and one coconut candy in my bag. Looking at the watch I have 2 hours to wait, I best not eat all of them in one go (lol). First I started attacking the bun, munch 10 times slower than I use to eat, drink a glass of water. OK that last me for about 15 minutes, then tummy decided to make noise yet again. I went to the toilet for a little break and walked around the campus (went up to the rooftop garden) for walkies. I had my coconut candy in my pocket and started sucking on it whist walking on the grass. Yesterday wasn't too hot outside, so that's OK. I gave a quick call to mom who's on her way to Auchan (remember the Tesco-like supermarket in HangZhou?:) to do some shopping. Though we have to finish cos mom's phone battery was rather low....

After that I went back down to the staff room, instead of taking the lift, I took the stairs. I need to as much exercise as I can think of. In HangZhou I get to walk up to mountain everyday, now that I am back in Hong Kong, I have significantly lot less exercise than I'd hope for. And Hubby is not always available to go out walkies like mom because he has way too many things need doing. So I best not disturb him (which will only prolong his working hour late at night) when I can do simple exercise myself.

Back in the staff room, hungry again lol. And that was 12pm, one more hour to go!!! I thought I *have to* start on my biscuits now. Again I made sure I munch each of them really slow. Tasting every single bits of it (even though it's not much, it's soda biscuits for god sake lol) but it's food nonetheless and I needed that then :) down with yet another mug of water (my big tigger mug). Shortly after I finished the biscuit, the clock on my computer said '1pm' yay time to head out! Hopefully I'll get to Whampoa, Hung Hom and have food in front of me before this hunger feeling decided to come back again!

As mentioned in hubby's writing, we've told Nick that I wanna have lunch first before looking for beds, we were still distracted as we walked into Jusco. In the end after spending about 30 minutes in the bed section, finally we managed to head out and find food place! (that was 2:15)We ended up eating in Xihu Supreme. A restaurant that does 4 different cuisines: Shanghai, Sichuan, Hangzhou and Beijing. Of course nothing exactly like our Hangzhou cuisines when it's made locally in HK, but it'll do plus I was hungry! :) We had to wait for our table but thank god we didn't have to wait too long. We were seated at 2:44 and quickly ordered which was my job since it's all Chinese :) waiting at the table for food to arrive as 'painful' especially when everybody else around us were eating (lol). I decided to hit the loo for a break.

As I went out, my hope's come true, food's on the table! EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xiaobao was definitely very happy and kicking around when I smelled food and started eating hehehe :) I think even he thought 'finally woman!' (lol)

Again I shouldn't be eating very fast no matter how hungry I am, since I won't know how full I am if I eat too quickly and I don't wanna know after I finished eating and found that I'd eaten too much. The feeling of full and bloatedness and xiaobao moving in a full stomach will literally makes me sick amongst other things (like holding a 'heavy tummy'). So I took my time, chew very thoroughly every food I have. Still I think I ate too much because I wasn't hungry when we were in Shengwan in that Indian restaurant - Masala Modern Indian Cuisine. Took me awhile to find this pic on google. So make sure you click into it and have a look!

I only managed to eat two vegetable samosas and a glass of mango lassi. It's a very common and popular drink in India. It's mango blended with yogurt. Very nice especially when you are feeling hot :) I even ate some of the ice cubes in my glass afterwards.

*updates* Xiaobao's reading program have just been delivered! Yay!!!! The English version story books will be among them and daddy can start reading it to xiaobao and see how he likes it. Though building bond with xiaobao takes time. Right now he responds to me better than to daddy simply because he's with me all the time :P but I remain hopeful that we still have 2 more months to go for xiaobao to get familiarize with daddy's voice :) when xiaobao gets to 30 weeks old, we can even hear his heartbeat right from my tummy - how cool is that! :) Indeed xiaobao just moved as I typed here in agreement ;)
