Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) 17/7

OK it's been over a week now after my OGTT, so I better updated it now :) As usual let me start the story the day before...

Thursday evening I had a good dinner cos knowing I can't eat nor drink after 12pm. So I thought I'll eat all I can and drink all I want :) though guess what, I fell asleep at around 9pm! Thank god I woke at 11pm so I went and drink a cup of water. Ahhhhh heaven's nectar :)

In the morning, I have to take a sample of the first pee for the hospital for check-up. Usually after the toilet, I always like to drink a cup of water, but that morning I couldn't! >_< then I brushed my teeth. I soooooo want the water I even thought about the water in my mouth (with toothpaste) and the rest of it in my toothbrush mug!!! I knowwwww it's desperate and disgusting :) But I resisted lol

We arrived at the hospital at 8:40. Most mom-to-be where already there and took their blood test. Hubby can't go in for some reasons (maybe no space) and decrease the infection, so he has to wait outside. But unfortunately there was no seats - all occupied by other early birds husbands - so he has to sit on the floor.

At the mean time I was waiting my name to be called to do the blood test. Having said that I am use to it, I was so nervous waiting (cos it was my second time to be jabbed), no sooner my name was called (god bless me*_*). This time was a bit more painful than the first time in St. Paul, but I ride it out! The nurse told me to take a mug of that sweet drink and drink slowly. She told me to take my time because I don't wanna throw up, otherwise I'll have to re-do the test again the next day, don't really want that!

I sat down with my drink which contains 50g of glucose. I took one sip and I thought 'oh my god, yeah!!' I could soooooo drink that in one go, but I don't want to feel sick as the nurse said some women might feel differently, so I took my time. I finished my drink in 10 mintues. Ahhhhh totally enjoyed it heh. Some other women in the room were like 'arghhhhh, horrible taste!' I thought to myself 'only if I can, I can help you drink yours' lol

After the drink, we have to note down the time and wait for 2 hours before my next jab. 10:48am was my time :) during that 2 hours, I thought I'll be bored to death. I couldn't go out because we were told to be seated all these time. But luckily I wasn't too hungry though trust me I wanna eat :) I will be over 12 hours since my last meal the night before!!

Knowing me, I started talking with other mom-to-be :) heh. We exchanged information and just chit-chat the whole time. Wasn't too bored then. Apparently this year a lot of mom-to-bes are having boys. Last year was girls! *shrug*:) I checked out some women's belly. Some are small, some are big. Some are way smaller than they should be. Whereas me? I am just big lol usually wherever I go, people thought I am one more month along than I am really :P

Before my second jab, we have to go down and paid first and take the receipt up and give it to the nurse, then she'll perform the second jab. Went out and met hubby who got back from Burger King for his breakfast! At least I know where I'll be going after the jab for food :) the croissant with egg and sausage was nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you want one just by looking at it:) And it's healthy!

Whilst I was waiting for my second jab, the nurse said 'for those after 11:45, my other colleague will take the test for you' - I was like 'noooooooooooo' I want that nurse. At least I know it doesn't hurt too much done by her. God knows how other nurses were like!! >_< But lucky me, she called me out after her last one. Guess she likes me alright:) haven't been so happy to go and get my jab sheesh lol.

Second jab was better than the first one :) though I know now why my left arm was bruised the first time....because I have to clench my fist tight during the jab. After the nurse finished, my fist was still clenched tight :-/ silly me! The nurse said 'loosen up now!!' too late :P But my right arm was fine.....can't even see the needle hole...told ya that nurse was good :) I make sure I was extra polite to her lol you never know in these public hospital. Some nurses can be really bitchy and fierce. Don't want one of those to take my blood test if I can avoid it :)

It was 11am after the jab, bubbly me went out to meet hubby and off to Burger King! The egg and sausage croissant was niceeeeeeeeeeeeee. Speaking about it, baby just kicked in agreement ;) definitely have my genes *lol*

As for the blood test result, if I don't get called by the coming Monday or Tuesday, it means my result is good :) since it's been over a week now, so we know I am in good condition :)
